Among these children he meets Bronwyn, a young girl with super strength, Hugh, a boy who has bees living inside him, Olive, a girl who can set fire to anything she touches and Emma, a girl who is lighter than air. When Jacob arrives he discovers that all of the peculiar children his grandfather had described were in fact real. Searching for answers in the stories and clues his grandfather left behind, Jacob embarks on a journey to Wales with the hopes of finding the orphanage his grandfather had described so many times in his bedtime stories. The story begins in suburban Florida where young Jacob Portman suffers the tragic and mysterious loss of his beloved grandfather. “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” features magic, action, adventure and oddities that are sure to keep you entertained throughout the movie. He spends a lot of his time stitching parts of toys together to make an odd, disfigured creature, in which he'll bring to "life" with a heart. In the movie he says he used to bring dead people to back to life and make them have, quote, "epic battles" at his parents' funeral parlor. Once his "puppet" is functioning, it is under Enoch's full control and can only do what he tells it to do during the brief time it is "alive". As effective as his peculiarity is, it is sometimes long process to activate, as he needs time to implant the organ. Later on they are shown holding hands.ĭead-riser: Enoch is capable of briefly bringing life into all non-living things by implanting a vital organ (usually a heart) from another living being's body. He then confesses his love for her when he thought she was dying, visibly in grief. He is also the first one to boldly charge at the hollowgast to protect his friends. He has dark brown eyes and often wears an expression that portrays him as unfriendly and judging.Įnoch's main outfit is a gray-and-black long sleeved, button up shirt and gray khakis.Įnoch first comes off as grumpy, rude, and sarcastic, and shown to be unfriendly towards Jacob upon first meeting him.ĭuring the film, he shows a more caring side for the younger kids in the group when he helps them escape the hollowgast-he makes sure the little ones are out of danger before he is. His hair is cleanly shaved just above his ears. He is portrayed by Finlay MacMillan.Įnoch is a teenage boy (what looks to be in his late teens-16 or 17) who has short, dark brown, wavy hair with bangs that usually covers the right side of his forehead. His peculiarity is the ability to temporarily bring life into corpses or inanimate objects using the heart of an animal.
